Zac Godfrey

Mr. Zachary “Zac” Franklin Godfrey, age 37 of Concord, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 in a tragic auto accident in Summerville, SC where he was currently living.

A service to celebrate Zac’s life will be held Saturday, March 23 at 5:00PM at Factory Church in Concord, with Pastor Andy Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held at Factory prior to the service at 4:00PM. He will be laid to rest beside his grandparents at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Zac was the son of Janet Goodman Harvey of Concord and Robert D. Godfrey of Wilmington. Zac, known to many friends as “Crazy Zac”, was a people person and loved spending time with friends and being surrounded by people. He was an avid coral grower, spending hours propagating his coral collection and tending to his huge coral tank and many fish aquariums. Zac loved music, often singing karaoke in local restaurants. He worked in the restaurant business utilizing his talent for, and love of cooking. Zac loved his family deeply, as well as his many pets. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, Janet and stepfather, Donald “Butch” Harvey, and his father, Robert, survivors include his sister, Jordan Godfrey and fiance’, Tyler Russell; nephew, Saylor Russell; girlfriend, Natalie Barnhouse of Summerville, SC; stepsister, Rebecca Harvey; stepbrother, Michael Harvey and wife, Emily, of Huntersville. He is also survived by his "Aunt Kay" (Turner) of Concord, and uncle and aunt, James and LuAnn Robinson of Myrtle Beach, SC; cousins, Aaron and Lindsay Robinson, Stephanie Hillard and Cindy Evans.
