Wilton Guy Pait, 90, of Harrisburg, NC, passed away on Sunday evening, June 9, 2024, at Sharon Towers in Charlotte, NC.
Wilton was born on July 8, 1933, in Bladenboro, NC to his late parents, Hayes and Minnie Pait. Wilton is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Yvonne Inman Pait. In addition to his parents and wife, Wilton was preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Smith and Shirley Smith, and his brother, Eldon Pait.
Wilton served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956 and was a Quartermaster on the USS Intrepid. He was a 30-year employee of Southern Bell and was the founder and President of Pait Contractors in Belmont, NC. Wilton was a founding and active member of Rocky River Church, in Concord, NC, where he served many years as a Trustee of the church.
Wilton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a committed follower of Jesus Christ. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Wilton is survived by his son, Michael Pait and wife Susie of Mint Hill, NC; daughter Rhonda Parker and husband Donnie of Blowing Rock, NC; daughter Lorna Hinson and Husband Toy of Matthews, NC; daughter Karen Britt and husband Jimmy, of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren; Corey Pait and wife Jennie, Matt Potter and wife Emily, Zachary Pait, Brittany Martin and husband Daniel, Megan Dodgen and husband Ian, Annie Britt Wilkerson, and husband Seth, and James Britt; great-grandchildren; Brenden Sherrill, Chloe Pait, Grayson Pait, Brayden Pait, Colton Pait, Nicholas Potter, Preston Potter, Blake Potter, Tristan Potter, Isaac Dodgen, Jovie Dodgen, and Caden Dodgen.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1-2pm at Rocky River Church at 887 Pitt School Road, SW, Concord, NC 28027. The funeral service will follow at Rocky River Church at 2pm. The service will be officiated by Wilton’s son-in-law and pastor, Rev. Jimmy Britt. His burial will follow at Price Cemetery, Friendly Baptist Church Rd, Unionville, NC 28110.
