Mr. William A. “W. A.” Gaddis, age 88 of Concord passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Tucker Hospice House.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, November 17th at 2 pm in the chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home for family and friends. Pastor Greg Sloop will officiate.
W. A. was born June 1, 1935 in Gaston County and was the son of Willard A. Gaddis and Elizabeth Hoke Gaddis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Diane Harrington Gaddis, sisters, Dorothy Swink and Glenda Braddy.
W. A. proudly served our country in the US Army and was a graduate of Appalachian University. He was vice president of Murata of America. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and gardening. In their younger days, W. A. and his wife Diane had taken dance lessons, so he was known for his style and grace on the dance floor. W. A. also enjoyed listening to music.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Windy Holt and husband, Jonathan of Kannapolis, and son, Kevin Gaddis and wife, Luanne of Mooresville; grandchildren, Allen Solomon and wife, Jusara, and Lucas Solomon; step-granddaughter, Caitlin Grondziowki; step-great-grandchildren, Carolina and Andrew Grondziowki; sisters, Nadine Hawkins and Ann Drum and husband, Wayne; brother, Wayne Gaddis and wife, Betty; brother-in-law, Bucky Harrington and wife, Tina; many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends, who will miss W. A. dearly.
