Mr. William “Bill” Rudolph Crites, age 74 of Concord, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
A graveside service with military honors by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard will be held on Friday, August 27 at 11 am at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Marvin Goodnight will officiate.
Bill was born August 8, 1947 in Ohio county, KY, a son of the late John and Lauretta Kemp Crites. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Milligan Crites, a sister, Faye and a brother, Gerald.
Bill proudly served in the US Navy and was a member of the DAV #27. He retired from the Cabarrus County Schools’ maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his grandkids. Bill loved the Lord and christian music. He ran the sound system at Opportunity House, supported the Piedmont Singing Men and attended gospel singings at many churches. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sarah Crites, Cathy Crites, Michelle Gonzalez, and Glenna Greene and her husband, Mark; sons, Patrick Crites and Jason Turner and his wife, Missy; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie Dolph-Arthur, and Janice Norman; brother, Don Dolph and wife, Rhonda; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
