William Madison Clay

June 18, 1960 — March 19, 2018

Mr. William “Willie” Madison Clay of Wilson Street, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House.

His funeral will be 2 PM Saturday at Eastside Free Will Baptist Church officiated by James Ward, Johnny Whittington and Debbie Lewis.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Friday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A private family burial will be at a later time.

Willie was born June 18, 1960 in Concord to the late James Oscar Clay and Etta Vernie Bolton Clay. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Dub, Frank, and Bill Clay; and sisters, Martha Crisco, “Det” Brafford, Jo Simpson, and Brenda Aldridge. Willie owned and worker as a roofer with Willie Clay Services. He played music all his life. Willie had a passion for his church. He also was a promoter and wrestler for many years. He loved and helped everyone he could. Willie loved spending time with his family and friends.

Willie is survived by his wife, Tammy Shuping Clay; daughter, Jo Cline and husband Curtis; son, “Little Willie” Clay and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Landon and Madison Cline; sisters, Peggy Roach, Carol Sapp, and Betty Daniel; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Eastside F.W. Baptist Church, 460 Crestmont Drive, Concord, NC 28025.
