Wayne Allan Womack of Rockwell, NC, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023. He was born January 27, 1973 in Portsmouth, VA to Randy Dale Womack from Virginia and Grace George Williams of Albemarle, previously from Chesapeake, Va.
A service to honor Wayne’s life will be held on Thursday, September 14 at 3 pm in the chapel of Wilkinson Funeral Home, with Rev. David Jacobs officiating. The family will receive friends after the service from 4 to 6 pm at the funeral home.
Wayne worked for Atrium Health as Director of Design, Planning, and Construction. Wayne earned this position from years of hard work and dedication in a field that he was amazing in. His talent for building and organization was unmatched and awe inspiring.
Wayne is best known for his love and service to others. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He didn’t hold grudges and he didn’t judge. Everyone was good enough for him, just as they were. He loved and served the Most High God and wanted the world to see the redemption of Jesus in his service to others. He made sure to remind people daily of the love that God had for them. He sent texts and emails with devotions and daily readings to help keep everyone on track and motivated. He prayed unceasingly for others and that he would be light on a hill to draw those in a dark place to the eternal hope of salvation in Jesus.
Wayne is survived by his family and friends that will miss him dearly; his mother, Grace Williams, and his father, Randy Womack, along with his children and grandchildren; daughter, Kristen Womack and her husband, Jose Reyes, daughter, Vanessa Martinez and her fiancé, Sean Faro, and his son, Andrew Womack, his legacy and pride of his soul; his granddaughters that he loved dearly, Alyxa Jolene, his shadow and best friend, Charlotte, and Navi Reyes; his sister, Tracy Womack and his sister, Laurie DeCamp with her daughters, Kayleigh DeCamp and Alivia Mejias; his brother, Ryan Womack and his family, wife, Christy (Krispy), daughter, Lydia Rose, and son, Aidan Thomas He is also survived by Maribel Barrientos, the mother of his children; his close friends, Bruce and Lisa McMillion and Travis Eller, along with countless others who he loved and loved him.
There is not a better brother, father, or friend than Wayne. He had the type of character we should all strive for. He loved for the sake of love and served for the glory of God.
