Mr. Wayne Nathaniel O’Rear, age 26 unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3rd at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. A service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August, 4th at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Landrum officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Church Cemetery on Gold Hill Road, Concord.

Wayne was born May 10, 1990 in Mecklenburg County, son of JoAnn Bish of Charlotte and the late Wayne Laverne O’Rear. He graduated from Central Cabarrus High School in 2008 and North Carolina State University in 2012, earning a dual degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He was successful in his career at Duke Energy and enjoyed his work. Wayne earned his Eagle Scout rank at BSA Troop 49 of Charlotte. Wayne was a beloved and sought after friend, easily making others laugh and feel at ease. He was an amazing sibling and son, part of a close knit family. Wayne loved the Lord and on this day he is in heaven.

Those left to cherish Wayne’s memory are his parents, Rudy and JoAnn Bish of Charlotte; brother, Dwayne O’Rear and sister, Sophie Bish, both of Charlotte; grandfather, Joseph W. Sweeney of Manchester, Michigan; his great-aunt, Charlotte Ohsowski of Concord and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss Wayne dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mecklenburg Council Boy Scouts of America, 1410 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or to the Dilworth Center, 2240 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28203 or you may go to dilworthcenter.org to donate.
