CONCORD- Wayne Arnold Lewis passed away December 5, 2021 at Tucker Hospice House after a year's battle with ALS.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, December 9 at 2 p.m. Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury. The family will receive friends will follow from 4-6 p.m. at Kannapolis Church of Christ, 2315 Concord Lake Rd. Wayne will lie in-state for viewing all day Wednesday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Wayne was born on Friday, September 13, 1940 to Paul W. Lewis and Belva Christy Lewis. He was a proud graduate of Odell High School class of 1958. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and was retired from Cannon Mills/Pillowtex. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with family and trips to the mountains and beach.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Morley Lewis, son Robert Lewis (Shana), daughter Aimee L. Hawkins (Quinn), and grandchildren Dylan Lewis, Josh Lewis, Morley Hawkins, and Lindsay Hawkins. He also is survived by his younger brother John Lewis (Becky) and nieces Cindy Ragan, Renee Crawford, and Kim Brannan.
