CONCORD- Thelma Estelle King King, 88 passed away at her home on November 6, 2020.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be 2pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Harmony United Methodist Church. Rev. Thad Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2pm in the sanctuary prior to the service.
On November 11, 1931, in New Hanover Co., Thelma was born to Francis Duffy and Millie Bishop King. She went on to marry Ernest Lee King Sr who passed away in 1988. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Allen.
She was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church in Snead’s Ferry. When her health began to decline in 2017, she decided to move to Concord with her son. She then began attending Harmony United Church. She enjoyed being with her family and working in the yard.
Mrs. King is survived by her son E.L. “Ernie” King Jr and wife Janette; brothers, Daltan King of Winston Salem and Frank “Cooter” King of Monroe; granddaughter, Amanda K. Dautel; great granddaughter, Alexandria “Alex” Dautel; and great great-grandson, Andreas Torrence.
