Swann and Shay had a blessed life together raising their family. Together they loved taking excursions to ride motorcycles, taking corvette trips, camping, spending time with their daughters and grandchildren, and living life to the fullest!
Swann spent his valuable time and effort raising his daughters, Jennifer and Alison. He enjoyed memorable, beach-side shenanigans with his daughters throughout their lives. He was always their faithful provider, protector, and go-to for any, and all things.
Swann is dearly loved by his grandchildren, Bryn Grace, Samuel, Isabella, Alexander, and Olivia. He is lovingly known as Papaw who enjoyed taking them riding on four wheelers, shooting target practice, and just about anything else they asked him to do.
Swann graduated from Concord High School in 1971 and proudly served in the US Navy and Navy Reserves for 6 years. He was a dedicated member of Epworth United Methodist Church since 1979.
Swann had an incredible work ethic and worked hard his entire life - that was the way he liked it! His first job was with Cannon Mills when he was very young. His latest career was working for Hiab USA/Cargotec for over 29 years. His co-workers said, “Swann touched a lot of hearts and was lovingly referred to as the encyclopedia of knowledge by many.” Whether he was teaching, learning, fixing equipment, or getting to know the many people along the way, he loved every part of it.
Swann was the absolute best husband, father, Papaw, brother, uncle, cousin, co-worker, and friend. He was always interested in the people he loved and anything he could do to help. He genuinely enjoyed talking with people and getting to know them. He always had the right advice when you needed it and was a man of real integrity. Swann was devoted to his family and friends and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
