Suzanne Jean Holena passed away on June 18, 2023, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.
Born Suzanne Jean Armstrong, she preferred to be called Suzie. She was born May 15th, 1969, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, Oregon, to parents Jean Ann Strickler and Ross Lewis Armstrong. She grew up in Eugene and graduated from Willamette High School in 1987.

Suzie enlisted in the Air Force in January of 1988, she went to basic and tech school in Texas and then served at Petersen Air Force Base in Colorado as a dental assistant.
After separating from the Air Force, she and her family moved several times. They lived in Alaska (one of her favorites), New Mexico (made several lifelong friends), Colorado and finally Alabama. Her final move was to North Carolina.

Suzie obtained her Nursing Degree while living in Colorado. She absolutely loved being a nurse and worked in the nursing field for over 20 years. She spent the last few years as a travel nurse, which she absolutely enjoyed.

She is survived by her children son Ryan Holena, daughter Lauren Holena, daughter-in-law Shelby and granddaughter Piper. She is also survived by her older brother John Armstrong and sisters Sherri Gotcher, Shirley and brother-in-law Mike Palmer, Sandy Wiley, Sheila and brother-in-law Troy Johnson and Lydia and sister-in-law Kendra Green along with multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Suzie is preceded in death by her parents, Jean Armstrong and James Brawn, her twin brother Jerry, older brother Jimmy, niece, Amanda Wiley, nephew Forest Walton, and her grandparents Leonard and Bertha Brawn and Cora and Lonny Johnson.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution be made to Cure Duchenne in the name of James and Jerry Armstrong, your local hospice house or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life is planned for the 8th of July 2023 at 1pm. The location of the service is 4695 Manteo Dr., Concord NC.
