Mrs. Shirley Elaine McClamrock Moose, 74, of Concord, our family Matriarch, sister, aunt, “Maw-Maw”, faithful friend passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at Novant Health-Mint Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Broadus Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rodney Quesenberry. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Shirley was born on April 4, 1947 in Concord to the late Johnsie Faye Willard McClamrock and Harold Howard McClamrock. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Moose; son, Richard “Ricky” Kenneth Lefler; brothers, Kenneth McClamrock, Mickey McClamrock, and Barry McClamrock.
Shirley graduated from Hartsell High School, where she was a Junior Class Beauty, Cheerleader and played on the Basketball Team. From there, she was awarded a scholarship to SouthEastern Beauty College which shaped the rest of her professional life as a hairstylist. Shirley went on to work at LaMarick, Fred Heinz Hair Design, Hair Characters, then owned and operated her own business, Changes Hair Salon, for 25+ years.
She also was a Member of the Order of the Eastern Star and helped with Salvation Army Meals on Wheels program. Shirley loved to travel abroad and take cruises whenever she could but enjoyed just going to the beach. She was a faithful member of Broadus Baptist Church where she helped with Law Enforcement Lunches. Shirley loved Jesus and her family and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and had a witty, endearing personality. Shirley was the definition of a “True, Classic, Sophisticated, Southern Lady”, making everyone’s hearts smile and an “Angel of Love”.
She is survived by her sisters, Iris Faye Rushing, Janet McClamrock Mayhew (Bruce); brother, Gerald Wayne McClamrock; sister-in-law, Pierrette McClamrock; nieces and nephews, Robin Rushing, Cindy Smith (Steve), Meredith and Will Mayhew, Gerald McClamrock(Carol), Carla MacClamrock, Candice MacClamrock (Brian), Lauren McInnis (Terry), Missy Nowlin (Josh), Prissy MacClamrock, Kimmie Rogers (John), Ashlyn MacClamrock, Thomas MacClamrock, Crystal Blackwelder, Dale McClamrock (Pam), Angie Austin (John), Lisa Will, Darin McClamrock(Kelly), Reggie McClamrock (Debbie),, Rick McClamrock (Joy), Lisa Bennett (Jamie), Natasha McClamrock, Barry McClamrock (Sora) and the late Kenny McClamrock. Numerous great nieces and nephews; step-children, Tim Moose (Laura), Julie Moose Hatley (Brian); grandchildren, Brandon Moose (Melissa), Britney Lloyd (Michael), Dillon Hartsell (Ali), Trevor Moose, Dylan Moose; great-grandchildren, Izzy Lloyd, Weston Moose, Carly Lloyd, Whitney Moose and Owen Hartsell; sisters-in-law, Linda Cordell, Pat Auten (Larry); Beloved Yorkie, Pinkie. Shirley always treated all family members as if they were her own and loved everyone so dearly.
Shirley always said these prayers daily: “Thank you for keeping me Holy, Stay strong in the Lord”
The family would like to give thanks to a special friend, Jim Taylor, for his love and support.
