Shelby Mauney

CONCORD- Shelby Honeycutt Mauney, 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 7, 2021.

She will be available for viewing on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 8am to 5pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A private funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, January 11, 2021 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Concord, NC. Private burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

Shelby was born in Cabarrus County on December 13, 1942, to Hubert and Eula Mae Helms Honeycutt, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dennis T. Mauney. She graduated from Hartsell High School and Evans School of Business. She was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church for 62 years, where she served as church secretary for 25 years, past president of the WMU for 20 years, and a former Sunday School teacher. She loved her family immensely and wanted them together for every birthday, holiday and anytime there was something to celebrate.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Terry W. Mauney; sons, Christopher M. Mauney (Dee) of Fountain Inn SC, Casey L. Mauney of Concord, and Jason L. Mauney (Shelley) of Concord; daughter-in-law, Carolyn T. Mauney of Concord; brother Mick Honeycutt (Kay) of Concord; sister Barbara Shinn (Robert) of Georgeville; grandsons, Christopher, David, Daniel, Joshua, Rodney, and Michael; and great grandchildren, Isabelle, Sophia, Annaleigh, Luke, Oliver and Kevin..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church “Missions Fund”, 42 Liske Ave., Concord NC 28027.
