Mr. Roscoe Dixon age 90, passed away peacefully at his home with his children by his side on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 pm Friday, November 23, 2018 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Brian Rabon officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.
Mr Dixon was born September 12, 1928 in Darlington County, SC, a son of the late Noel and Connie Weatherford Dixon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lynn B. Dixon, son, Roscoe “Buddy” Dixon, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Dixon, and 9 siblings.
Roscoe was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He had a career with F N Thompson as a construction foreman. He oversaw bridge constructions on I-85 and hotels and office buildings built in downtown Charlotte. Roscoe enjoyed gardening and being in the sunshine, watching NASCAR, and spending quiet time reading and studying the bible. He loved his family and was so happy when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come to visit. He will be dearly missed by them all.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Judy Deese of Concord, Janice Dixon of Kannapolis and Linda Dixon of Concord; sons, Mitch Dixon and David Dixon of Concord; grandchildren, Gregory Boyd, Jr., Steven Boyd, Jennifer Dance and Christopher Boyd; great-grandchildren, Shyann, Kalib, Jessica, Stevie, Dylan, Hadden and Riley; his only surviving sister, Mildred Deese of Concord and numerous nieces and nephews.
