Mr. Ronnie Luther Wagoner of May Street, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday at Forest Hill United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Suzanne Dornsmith and Rev. Karen Kurtz . Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 PM Sunday at the church.
Ronnie was born April 11, 1943 in Concord to the late Henry L. Wagoner and Rachel Hines Wagoner. Ronnie went to work for Brenda’s dad at Talbert’s Garage in 1964. He worked there until 1976. Ronnie was a faithful member of Forest Hill UMC. His was a quiet faith shown through his life of making others feel welcome at church. Since leaving the workforce he has been a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He played a significant nurturing role in the lives of his 3 granddaughters. For years, he has made pigs talk and books come to life. He had a special reading place called “the hole” where he read favorites like Little Toot and Money and the Crocodile. He enjoyed all types of fishing and looked forward to an annual family surf fishing trip to the Outer Banks. He loved to spend time at Lake Tillery with the family where he helped in a float train and made sure all the children were safe in the water. He led a full life filled with faith, travels, laughter, family, and joy. He will be missed but not forgotten.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Brenda Talbert Wagoner; daughter, Diane Seaford and husband Todd of Concord; son, Tracy Wagoner and wife Kristie of Locust; grandchildren, Audrey Pinion and husband Chris, Meg Seaford, and Addison Wagoner; brother, Gerald Wagoner of Concord; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Ira L. Wagoner.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Ronald Pollack, Dr. Giltz Croley II, Dr. Joe Simpson, and ICU Nurse Jennifer Evans.
