CONCORD- Ronald Warren Owens, Jr, 34 passed away at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville on February 3 from ALS.
A memorial service will be 4pm Friday, February 17 at Sharon Baptist Church(2628 Shady Lane Concord) with Dr. James Strickland officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4pm at the church.
Born February 8, 1982 in Syracuse, NY, Ron is the beloved son of Ronald W. Owens, Sr and Laurel Owens of Concord NC. The family moved to North Carolina in 1997. Ron graduated from Fort Dorchester High School in Summerville, SC. He was a produce manager for Bloom and Publix. He enjoyed barbecuing, cooking, and was a big NASCAR fan. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Syracuse Orange basketball. Ron mostly loved being with his family and was always doing for others.
In addition to his parents, Ron is survived by his brother, Brett R. Owens and wife Amber of Kannapolis; sister, Carly A. Haga and husband Daniel of Concord, grandmother, Phyllis M. Bowes of Concord, very special nephew, Bentley Ronald Owens; and many family members in Syracuse, NY.
