CONCORD- Robert "Bob" Lewis Donah,96, passed away at home on April 3, 2024.
An 11:00am memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20 2024 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Simonds will officiate the service which will include military honors delivered by the US Navy.
Bob was born on March 4, 1928 in Syracuse, NY. He was one of six, and last remaining, children of George Henry and Caroline Wickert Donah. At age 17, he voluntarily enlisted in the US Navy where he served in the Philippines and was a recipient of multiple service medals. He then was drafted to serve in the US Army where he was stationed in Oklahoma. Afterward, he returned home and began a long courtship with Carol Hamm. He and Carol married in 1967 and began to grow their family in 1968. He is remembered as a hard working father who commuted an hour to and from work daily to ensure that his family could live and grow up in the country. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1988, but courageously pushed on with his career so he could provide for his wife and daughters. He was a longtime Mason where he was involved in many lodge activities. He was truly a devoted husband and loving father.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle E. Donah (Jeffrey Schroyer) of Concord and Amie T. Donah (James Burke) of Richmond, VA.
