Mr. Robert “Bob” Jackson Brooks, Sr., 79, passed away on April 18, 2017 at Bob and Carolyn Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by his family.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 pm, Friday, April 21, 2017 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Bob was born on March 19, 1938 in Stanly Co. to the late Calvin Teal Brooks, Sr. and Carrie Honeycutt Brooks. He is also preceded in death by his sisters; Ruth Reynolds, Faye Purl, Bryte Faggart, Elaine Mills, Louise McDaniel, and Frances Summerell; and brothers; Bill Brooks and Buck Brooks,
Bob loved the Lord, his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his family and studying his family Genealogy . Bob was a great “story teller” and loved to be surrounded by his family at all times. He was very passionate about cooking, and loved to share his recipes, but never the “full” recipe. He was owner/operator of Bob’s 50’s Grill, that was known for Concord’s Best Cheese Burger in town. He worked for many years in the automobile industry, as a body shop manager and as a salesman. He had over 20 years of employment at Ben Mynatt Chevrolet.
Bob is survived by his wife, Virginia “Gail” Eagle Brooks; children, Robin B. Davis and husband, Alan, Jennifer B. Cook and husband, Glenn, Robert J. Brooks, Jr. and wife, DaNeil, Lori D. Brooks; brothers, James Dixon Brooks of IL and his wife Jan, Calvin Teal Brooks, Jr. of Charlotte and wife Jenky; grandchildren, Carrie Davis, Brian Davis, Brooke Gardner, Taylor Gardner and fiancé Erica Corl, Lora Thomas and husband Kyle, Samantha Taylor and great grandson Levi Thomas, step-grandchildren, Jeremy Cook and wife, Wendy, Braden Cook and wife, Jessica, Jasmin St. John and husband, Corey; bonus great-grandchildren, Skylar Cook, Jasmin Cook, Ally Cook, Ayden St. John, Macy Cook; and a number of nieces, nephews, brother in laws, sister in laws, and his very special Mother in law Geraldeen Eagle.
