Mr. Richard “Dick” Joseph Borsuk, age 84 passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Atrium Cabarrus.
The family will receive friends Thursday, October 3 from 6 to 8 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 4 at 11 am at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, with Father Jerome Chavarria C.Ss.R.officiating. Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church cemetery.
Mr. Borsuk was born October 13, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, a son of the late Stephen and Veronica Lucas Borsuk. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine, son-in-law, Karl Slough, siblings, Joseph Borsuk and wife, Mary, Mary Kovalsky and husband, Joseph, Ann Castagnozzi and husband, Daniel, Helen Jankowski and husband, Joseph and Ann Stasiak and husband, Paul.
Dick graduated with an Electrical Engineer Degree from Manhattan College. He then worked for IBM, where he retired after 35 years of service. He was a very dedicated member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church, having been an usher and greeter, a mentor for the teen age youth group, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and worked in the maintenance dept. for the church. Dick also enjoyed spending time with his family at the lake, golf, cross-skiing, hiking, woodworking, volunteering at the church and the community. He was a one of a kind guy and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Ann Gallagher Borsuk; children, John Borsuk and wife, Lisa, Diane McDonald and husband, Bill, Mary Dalaba and husband, Tim, and Dan Borsuk and wife, Maria; grandchildren, Michael and Eric Borsuk, Allison Mando and husband, Joe, Kyle Slough and wife, Madeline, Courtney Goodman and husband, Bryant, Krista Ung and husband, Randall, Anthony and Justin Dalaba; great-grandchild, Andrew Goodman; several nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the staff at Atrium Health Carolina’s Rehabilitation-Northeast and Atrium Cabarrus ICU for the care shone to Richard.
