Rebecca “Becky” Booze Wampler

August 4, 1944 — October 16, 2022

Rebecca “Becky” Booze Wampler, 78, of Concord, North Carolina and New Jersey, died peacefully on October 16, 2022.

Becky was born on August 4, 1944, to Webster and Anna Booze in Roanoke, Virginia. She was raised in Buchanan, Virginia with her three beloved brothers. After graduating from James River High School, Becky received her degrees in both History and Music from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Becky was a dedicated and passionate mother to her children and an adoring “Nana” to her grandchildren. She was a talented singer, remained active in choral groups throughout her life and was a member of the PEO Sisterhood. Becky enjoyed all the latest shows on Broadway, often with her grandchildren. She traveled the world and was especially proud to have visited all seven continents. She instilled her love of music and travel in her children and grandchildren.

After staying home to raise her children, Becky successfully pursued a career in real estate in both Concord and Westfield, New Jersey where she developed a wonderful and supportive network of friends and colleagues.

Becky was predeceased by her parents, Webster and Anna Booze, and her brothers, Webbie Booze and George Booze. She is survived by her son, Paul Wampler, daughters, Anne (Holt) Morrison and Mary (Jerry) Browning, her partner, Frank Fleischer, her brother, Charles Booze, and his wife Margaret, sisters-in-law, Kitty Sue Booze and Judy Booze, as well as seven grandchildren. Becky was warm and loving and counted so many friends as extended family. Although she lived in many places over the years, she always remained true to her Shenandoah Valley roots.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that gifts in her memory be made to the First Presbyterian Church – Concord Memorial Garden (https://firstpresconcord.org/give/give-now) or the ROS1ders (https://www.theros1ders.org/donate). A private service is planned for late October in Buchanan, Virginia.
