Ranie Cranford

Ms. Ranie Renae Cranford, age 60 passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

"Nae Nae", as she was known to family and friends, was born August 30, 1964 in Rowan County, and was a daughter of the late Clifford McCoy Cranford and Minnie Ruth Phillips Cranford.

Having a green thumb, Nae Nae enjoyed working with plants, watching them all grow into something beautiful. She had a soft spot for God's furry creatures, as she would love on them and make sure they were well fed. Everyone will remember Nae Nae as having a kind heart. Even with her health struggles, she would try to be there for others. She was a loving companion, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving companion of 20 years, Joe Rath; daughters, Ashley Herrin and boyfriend, Tyler Riley; Katie Newton-Cranford and wife, Leslie; sisters, Rhonda Carpenter and Channa Trull; half-brother, Bobby Phillps; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will have a celebration of life for Nae Nae at a later date.
