Rachel Lillian Jones

Mrs. Rachel Frantz Jones of Lexford Court passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at her home.
Her funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Carrie Bishop. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Rachel was born December 12, 1951 in Washington, DC to the late Frederick S. Frantz, Jr. and Louise Keller Frantz. She lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during her childhood and high school years. A graduate of Wittenberg University, she had a career as a software Quality Assurance professional in various industries and locations in Virginia, Georgia, Florida and North Carolina. She was employed by TIAA-CREF Financial Services at the time of her death. Rachel enjoyed the outdoor life, canoeing and kayaking. In 1976 Rachel and her sister bicycled across the United States. She was a hobbyist flower producer, at first selling casual bouquets at local markets. But later she found joy in making and sharing bouquets with others to celebrate events and grace their homes for special occasions.
Rachel is survived by her husband, Ronald Jones and his son, David Jones and his wife Becky of O’Fallon, MO, and their six children; sisters, Meg Frantz and her husband, David Coren of Golden, CO and Charlotte Frantz of Duluth, MN; brother, Frederick Frantz and his wife, Peggy of Utica, NY; and her canine companion, Puckett.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, 3600 Hwy 601 S., Concord, NC 28025 or to the Humane Society of Concord and Greater Cabarrus County, 2010 Wilshire Ct. SW, Concord, NC 28025.
