Rachal Rose (Ferchau) Morway of Concord, age 45, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday December 4, 2024 at Atrium Hospice House.
Rachal's funeral mass will be held 1:30 PM Friday (12/13/2024) at St. James "the Greater" Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Rachal was born March 1, 1979 in Saginaw, MI. She graduated from Nouvel High School in 1997. She attended Delta College where she played softball, wearing jersey # 13 with her close friends Kelly & Mary. Rachal earned a bachelor's degree at Western Michigan University in social work in 2002.
On June 23, 2007 Rachal married David R. Morway.
Rachal worked at Holy Cross Services in Saginaw, MI after college. She moved to North Carolina where she worked in Iredell County Dept. of Social Services as a social worker. She then took a job in Mecklenburg County and made many lifelong friends.
Rachal enjoyed attending church, puzzles, cooking, and music. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving her besides her husband, Dave, are her two daughters, Emma and Rylee Morway. Her mother, Theresa Ferchau and father Jack (Kelly) Ferchau, her mother in-law, Dr. Linda Morway, and her father in-law Michael (Lynn) Morway, her siblings, Stephanie Ferchau & Anthony (Brenda) Ferchau, brothers & sister in-law: Michael (Heather) Morway, Chris (Angela) Morway, and Rachel Morway McLean (Zachary), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece & nephews, and dear friends.
Preceded in death by grandparents: Jack & Rose Ferchau, William & Genevieve Choate, William Choate (uncle), Julia Choate (aunt), Matthew Choate and Katie Choate (cousins).
