Phyllis Blackwelder passed away on May 6th, 2019. A lifelong resident of Concord, Phyllis enjoyed a long, full life passing at 93 years old. Miss Phyllis retired from Concord Telephone Company and enjoyed a full retirement traveling with her husband Pete, delivering for Meals on Wheels and Flowers by Oralene.
Phyllis was pre deceased by her husband Pete, parents Bernice and Fred Rogers. She is survived by her daughter Candy (Bob) Coleman of Sarasota Florida, her caregiver and close friend Sib Plummer and numerous other friends. Phyl was a lifetime member of Second Presbyterian Church and a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Concord until it's closing.
A memorial service will be held at Wilkinson's Funeral Home on Thursday, May 9th at 1pm with a time of visitation afterwards. A private graveside service will be prior to the memorial service.
The family would like to thank all of the fine staff at Dr Rhodes, Dr Ward, Dr Houston, and Dr Zouzoulas offices and Tucker House at Atrium for their wonderful care for her.
