Mr. Phillip Ervin Biles passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
Phillip was born in Charlotte to the late Earl F. Biles and Margaret Plott Biles.
Phillip spent summers during high school and college working for the Youth Conservation Corp in Cherokee and Wilmington. This included a period where he managed day-to-day operations at the Cherokee campus. During this time, he built lifelong friendships with fellow YCC members.
His experiences led to a love of the outdoors and a deep respect for nature. This included a passion for fishing with his father's split bamboo fly rod.
Phillip's love of reading led to a vast knowledge of many subjects from politics, nature, archeology, history, geology, holistic medicine as well as theology. He developed a love of cooking in his later years.
He was a devoted son, helping care for both his parents as their health declined. His caring words and heartfelt efforts will be greatly missed.
Phillip is survived by his brother Alan Biles (Lisa) of Albemarle; fiancé Lisa Millis, and a number of extended family members.
Per Phillip's request, no services will be held.
