Peter James Anzenberger, known to his loved ones as Pete, passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 70 in Concord, NC. Born on January 28, 1953, in Rochester, NY, Pete was a dedicated family man and a loving husband to his wife, Patti Anzenberger, whom he was married to for 16,332 days, 13 hours, 40 minutes.
Pete was a proud father and grandfather, and his family meant everything to him. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and took great joy in their achievements and milestones. Pete's love story began in high school at Friendly's Ice Cream Shop, where he met the love of his life. He always loved reciting the number of days, hours and minutes they were married.
In his free time, Pete enjoyed following his alma mater, Boston College, and later became a huge admirer of Coach Mike Krzyzewski. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for golf and hockey.
Pete dedicated 31 years of his life to his career as a General Manager for Packaging Corporation of America. His commitment and hard work made a lasting impact on the company and those he worked with.
Pete was a man of faith and worshipped at St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church. He found solace and strength in his religious community.
In addition to his wife, Patti, Pete is survived by his children: Dr. Kerry Dove and her husband, Travis; Tim Anzenberger, Esq., and his wife, Leah Kathryn Anzenberger, Esq; Mary-Kate Knox and her husband, John; Kathleen Anzenberger and her husband, Nate Wall; and Kevin Anzenberger. He is also survived by his brothers, William James Anzenberger, Robert James Anzenberger, and Michael James Anzenberger, and their respective spouses, as well as grandchildren, Maya Dove, Katy Jane Anzenberger, Molly Knox, Durham Dove, Hayes Knox, Maggie Jack Anzenberger and a host of relatives, and friends.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Anzenberger and Marjorie McCormick Anzenberger.
A wake to honor Pete's life will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wilkinson Funeral Home, 100 Branchview Dr., NE, Concord. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 7 in St. James the Greater Roman Catholic Church, 139 Manor Ave. SW, Concord at 11:00 AM.
