Mr. Paul Gibson Perkins of Mt. Pleasant Road, Rockwell, and formerly of Marshville, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury.
His funeral will be 11 AM Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. James Strickland. Burial will follow at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
Paul was born March 6, 1939 in Concord to the late James Goldston Perkins and Blanche Alexander Perkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patricia Floyd Perkins, son James Grady Perkins, and four brothers and sisters. Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from S & D Coffee as fleet maintenance manager. Paul enjoyed working in Pat’s garden, keeping his cars spotless, and camping in mountains of North and South Carolina. He and Pat were members of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Paul is survived by children, Barry Perkins and wife Sandy of Rockwell, and Debbie Perkins Allison and husband Aaron of Marshville; grandchildren, Jessika and Travis Perkins, and Candace and Valerie Allison; and his beloved cat Smokey Bob.
