Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Lee Kirk Thomas, age 80 of Concord, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Atrium Health Main in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 14, from 12 to 1 pm at Broadus Baptist Church. A service to celebrate her life will follow at 1 pm with Dr. Rodney Quesenberry and Chaplain Tony Hodge officiating. She will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park.
Pat was born May 16, 1942 in Cabarrus County and was the daughter of the late Lewis E. and June Beamon Kirk. She was also preceded in death by her brother, David “Hawkshaw” Kirk and sister-in-law, Frances, and sister-in-law Sue Kirk.
Pat was such a loving and caring person. She along with her husband, “Cooter” were caregivers to several family members and friends. She was an active member of Broadus Baptist Church having served on various committees. Pat also enjoyed spending time at their beach home, fishing on the coast. She loved sewing and making bead jewelry that she shared with family and friends. We have lost a precious wife, sister, aunt and friend, but knowing that she is in the arms of God, brings a sense of comfort to our hearts.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, Walter Lee “Cooter” Thomas, survivors include her brothers, Mike Kirk and wife, Gail of Richfield, NC, Gene Kirk and wife, Sandra of Lancaster, SC, Ken Kirk and wife, Brenda of Mt. Pleasant, and Jeff Kirk of Albemarle; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
