Mrs. Pamela Ann Caviness Rankin, 70, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
The family will greet friends at Wilkinson Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Pam was born in Burlington on June 16, 1954, to the late Jewel Mullis Cope and Tommy Ray Caviness. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Robin Caviness Parrish. Pam earned a degree in English and a master's in education from UNC Charlotte. She dedicated her career to Behavioral Health, serving as a Quality Management Director at Daymark Recovery, where she made a lasting impact on countless individuals. Pam earned numerous professional certifications and accolades in her field. She was a licensed clinical addiction specialist, a licensed clinical mental health counselor, and a licensed clinical mental health supervisor. Pam was also active in the Cabarrus County Democratic Party and a long time member of Central United Methodist Church of Concord.
Pam spent countless hours, professionally and personally, listening and acknowledging others with deep care and attention. In her free time, Pam would cook family-favorite meals or enjoy planting in her yard. She enjoyed relaxing in nature on family camping trips, shopping with her sisters, and always looking for a good deal on Black Friday. More than anything else, she loved to read! Pam spent countless hours at the library, checking out multiple books in one visit. The place she loved to read the most was the beach. Pam's family beach trips each summer were a special retreat place, as she shared many beautiful memories with her family over the years.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William "Bill" Carl Rankin of Concord; daughters, Ellen Rankin and Ana Rankin, both of Concord; son, Matthew Rankin and wife, Zoe, of Philadelphia, PA; sister, Lisa Caviness of Burlington; and grandchildren, Tate Rankin and Callum Rankin of Philadelphia, and Charlotte Hollopeter of Concord.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cooperative Christian Ministry (CCM), P.O. Box 1717, Concord, NC 28026-1717.
