Ora Mccrary

March 17, 1926 — October 9, 2019

Ora Lee McCrary was born in Butler, Georgia on March 17, 1926. She attended public schools in Taylor County, Georgia and made lots of friends everywhere because of her loving disposition.

She married the love of her life Clay Hollie McCrary on April 9, 1942 in Georgia. This union produced nine children. She paid special attention to raise her children to be loving, responsible and special people. Daily mornings were met with hot bowls of oatmeal and goodbye kisses and evenings provided warm dinner and conversation. They were shining stars to light up her life.

She shared many good times cooking and baking for friends and family, earning the reputation for being a fantastic baker. Mouths watered when it came to Ora Lee’s desserts. German Chocolate Cake and her Coconut Cake with Pineapple filling were some of her famous creations.

In 1951 Ora and Clay moved to NJ, where they shared many memorable times with their family. Between the family barbeques, visits to the park, the drive-in and the beach, there was no doubt their bond was strong.

Ora dedicated her life to Jehovah on 11/1/1980 and has been a faithful servant until she fell asleep in death on Oct 9, 2019. She enjoyed her ministry, giving comfort and hope to all who would listen, including various aids at the Doreatha D. Campbell Senior Housing. Despite her health conditions, she remained hopeful, and had a smile that let you know everything would be alright.
Ora was relocated to NC with her daughter Patricia and her son Muhammad in 2018, where she resided in the White Oak Manor Nursing Home. She was so proud to display the many pictures of her sons, daughters, grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends who all loved her so much. Even though this loss is immense, one thing is for sure: She loved everyone unconditionally.

Ora leaves behind sons Garry (Juanita), Muhammad (Marcia), Khalis, Keith (Jillian); daughters Aretha and Patricia; grandchildren Holly, Mark (Britney), Tamika, Ebony, Jeremy (Stacy), Keith Jr., Sha-Quill, Doris, Talib, Aaliyah, Kabria and Tania. She also had a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ora was preceded in death by her husband, Clay and three sons; Hollis, Secial and Clarence.

She will be missed by all.

The family will gather Saturday, October 19 to visit with family and friends from 11 to 1 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A memorial talk will be held at 2 pm at Kingdom Hall on Rocky River Road. Burial will take place in Beverly, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations being made to Jehoviah's Witnesses at 598 NC-49, Concord, NC 28025.
