Nancy Boyd

Mrs. Nancy Hammer Boyd of Monticello Drive, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 at her home.
Her funeral service will be 3 PM Sunday at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Robert Palasin and Rev. Clark Remsburg, Jr. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 PM Sunday in the church Fellowship Hall. Entombment will be 12 PM Monday at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Nancy was born February 15, 1939 in Charlotte to the late Millard Thurmond Hammer and Kathleen Hill Hammer. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jerry M. Boyd, and brothers and sisters.

Nancy retired from Employers Mutual Life Insurance as head of the accounting department. She was an active member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and participating in other activities. She enjoyed traveling with Christian Tours and was an avid gardener. Nancy was an animal lover, especially her “Daisy”.

Nancy is survived by sons, Jerry Boyd, Jr. and wife Donna of Cleveland, NC, and Vick Boyd and wife Terri of Harrisburg, NC; grandchildren, Heather Boyd, Michelle Wambach, Nikki Boyd, Makensie Boyd, Jacob Boyd, and Brandon May; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Joshua, and Jordan Wambach, Tristan Anderson, and Tanner Pebbles; sisters, Madeline Tanner, Brenda Robinson, “Mott” Morrison, and Vickie Elliott; and other extended family members.
