Myrtle Elizabeth Hinson

May 6, 1925 — June 8, 2016


Myrtle Elizabeth Furr Hinson, 91, formerly of Concord, NC, died Wednesday June 8, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Hot Springs, SD where she had lived for the past two years.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 16th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, NC with graveside services following at 1:30 PM at Carolina Memorial Park. Rev. Rick Wilson will officiate.

Born in Cabarrus County on May 6, 1925 she was the daughter of the late James I. and Earnie Carter Furr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinson was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, Clyde H. Hinson, an infant daughter, a grandson, and her brother.

Elizabeth was a 1942 graduate of Concord High School and longtime member of Calvary Foursquare Church. She retired from the Federal Reserve.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughter, Teresa Miller of Hot Springs, SD; her son, James D. (Jan) Hinson of Abilene, TX, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in Elizabeth’s memory to Calvary Foursquare Church, 286 Linden Ave, Concord, NC 28027.
