Milton Clair Stairs

July 31, 1943 — March 3, 2017

Milton C. Stairs, 73, went to be with his Lord on March 3, 2017.

Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday March 5th at Kerr Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Brumfield officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3pm also at the church. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

Milton was born in Westmoreland Co. Penn. on July 31, 1943. He was the son of Howard M. and Melva Fern Brocious Stairs. Following graduation from Greensburg-Salem High School Milton continued his education at Penn State University when he graduated in 1964 with his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then began his 30-year career with IBM. He moved to Concord when was transferred from Endicott, NY to IBM’s Charlotte headquarters.

In addition to his parents, Milton is preceded in death by his first wife Betty.

Mr. Stairs is survived by his wife, Doris Sheffield Freeze Stairs; daughters, Barbara Small, Doris Ann Dry, and Jonna Wilson all of Concord; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
