CONCORD- Marjorie Louise McClellan Hodges, 88, passed away on October 9, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
Margie was born in Cabarrus County on March 18, 1934 to Ellis Oliver and Lottie Glen Beam McClellan. Her love of God, family, and children were always central in her life making her so very loved by family, friends, and her church community. Margie often spoke fondly of her time in Germany spent during her husband Jimmy Sr’s time in service and loved trips for family reunions where she collected and shared family genealogy information that lead back to Ireland. Her selfless care for others made her beloved to all who knew her. Margie retired as a switchboard operator at the Concord Telephone Co. and enjoyed spending time between her Concord and Mountain Island Lake residences. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Jimmy Hodges, and brothers, Clayton, Glenn, and Lawless ”Mac.”
Mrs. Hodges is survived by her sons, Jimmy A. Hodges Jr. of Concord and David H. Hodges and wife Anisa of Denver; grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Peyton, and Layla; and great grandchildren Ella, Everett, Ezra, and Penny.
