Margaret O’Neil McCachren Miller “Peggy” passed away Friday July 19, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House with her husband by her side.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 pm Thursday July 25 at Rocky River Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Neal Carter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Peggy was born Nov. 5, 1923, daughter of the late Lawrence “Lon” McCachren and Carrie Nash McCachren. She was also preceded in death by her 5 brothers Clegg, Wilton, Samuel, William “Bill” McCachren and, Lawrence, and one sister Ruth Steele McCachren Sappenfield.

Peggy attended Women’s College (now UNCG) and received her degree as an administrative secretary. She served many years as personal secretary to Harvey Moore, president of Brown Manufacturing, and ended her working career as personal secretary to William C. Cannon. She was a loving wife for 66 years and a caring mother to her sons, grandchildren, and anyone else that needed a mother.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years Graydon Alvice Miller Jr.; son, Lawrence Mitchell “Mitch” Miller and grandchildren, Ashlyn O’Neil Miller and Mitchell Colin Miller; son, Graydon A. “Rusty” Miller III wife, Linda and grandchildren, Graydon A. Miller IV (wife Brynne) and Suzanne L. Miller; and a host of extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
