Elizabeth “Libby” Mccombs Dillon

Libby Dillon, age 76, of Matthews, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Matthews Medical Center.

Libby was born on September 28, 1944 in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late C.J. McCombs Jr. and the late Margaret Davis McCombs. Libby was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ralph George Dillon Sr. of Danville, Virginia, who passed away on January 26, 2015.

Libby received her B.S. degree from St. Andrews University and enjoyed a long career as a Medical Technologist working in hospitals in Boone and Blowing Rock North Carolina, and also owned and operated a thriving Craft Business in Boone, NC (Busy Hands Yarn and Craft Shop). Libby was most devoted to her family and was very active in her sons’ childhood activities as a church youth sponsor, Cub Scout Den Mother, school volunteer, and member of the PTA.

Libby is survived by her eldest son, Ralph G. Dillon Jr. and his wife Kerry; her youngest son, Andrew J. Dillon and his wife Joy; and her three granddaughters, Katie Dillon, Maggie Dillon, and Molly Dillon.
