Louise Virginia Whittington

July 10, 1938 — September 20, 2016

Mrs. Louise Sutton Whittington of Primrose Lane, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home.
Funeral services will be 4 PM Saturday at the Universal House of Prayer officiated by Rev. Roger Bostic, Rev. A.W. Sutton and Rev. Robert Harrington. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2 PM.

Louise was born July 10, 1938 in Concord to the late Willie Leroy Sutton and Mittie Poplin Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Whittington, Jr.; daughter, Tammy W. Hornbeak; brothers, Ralph Sutton, Loyd Sutton, and Marvin Sutton; and sisters, Carolyn Harrington, and Meriel Sutton.
Louise was a homemaker and the “preacher’s wife” of Rev. Sam Whittington, the founder of the Universal House of Prayer. She was active in her church teaching children in children's church.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Dwana W. Moose and husband Randy; sons, Johnny Whittington and Tony Whittington; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Hagan, Lilly Faye Clay, and Willie Mae Rayfield; brothers, A.W. Sutton, Bill Sutton, and Jerry Sutton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Universal House of Prayer, 2999 Eva Dr. NW, Concord, NC 28027.
