Lorene Carpenter Boger

Mrs. Lorene Lyles Boger of Union St. S., passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 at her home.
Her funeral will be 7 PM Thursday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tom Anderson. The family will receive friends 5:30pm Thursday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date.
Lorene was born April 2, 1924 in Concord to the late Manlius Smoot Lyles and Cornelia Ann Carpenter Lyles. She graduated from Concord High School in 1941 and attended Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She also attended Pan American Business College in Richmond, VA. Lorene was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, being active for many years in the church nursery, and was a past member of the Concord Junior Charity League. Her passions included playing bridge, knitting and cooking. Lorene was also preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Lyles Jones in 2014, and Jacquelyn Lyles in 1932.
Lorene is survived by her son, Smoot Lyles Boger of Concord; daughter, Cornelia Ann Boger Karter and husband Philip of Matthews; step grandchild, Melissa Karter Lopez and husband David, and step great grandchild, Isabella Karter Lopez; and five nieces and two nephews.
