Linda Faye Riley Frieze, age 77, passed away early Saturday morning, November 16th, 2024.
Born January 29th, 1947, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Ruby Riley. In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased in death by her husband John William Frieze II on August 17, 2004.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23rd at Wilkinson Funeral Home from 1-3 pm. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 pm at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Gene Beaver officiating.
Linda was a graduate of Concord High School and was a homemaker and seamstress most of her life, staying home to take care of her children. Later in life she completed cosmetology school but never pursued the career. She did work outside of the home for a dental lab, sewing in a factory and eventually retired from her position in the school cafeteria at Royal Oaks Elementary School in Kannapolis.
Linda is survived by her two daughters Tamara Frieze Lyons of Dawsonville, Georgia, married to Allen Lyons, and Sherri Frieze Kilby of Kannapolis, North Carolina, married to Tommy Kilby. She is predeceased in death by her youngest child John William Frieze lll (Bill) on January 6, 2002. His wife Tiffany Royal Frieze resides in Peachtree City, Georgia. Linda was a loving Nana to four grandchildren: Dolph Kilby of Kannapolis, NC (Taylor); Grace Frieze of Peachtree City, GA (Jake); Quinton Lyons of Dawsonville, GA (Isabella); and William "James" Frieze of Peachtree City, GA. Linda was the great-grandmother of Wallace John Bennett of Peachtree City, GA. Linda is also survived by her sister Barbara Coren, married to Sonny Coren, both of Concord.
Linda battled health issues consistently beginning in 2016 and was diagnosed with dementia in March of 2020 and her health declined rapidly. Linda passed away while residing at Caremoor Retirement Community in Kannapolis. The family is grateful for the care she received from the staff there.
Linda will be missed by her family, life-long friends that she kept in touch with since high school, and other friends she made along the journey. We know that we will be reunited with her in heaven someday because of her relationship with Jesus!
