Mr. Lewis Daniel Garmon, Jr. of Concord passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Ann Street Senior Living in Kannapolis.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, June 6, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Rick Felts. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Lewis was born January 3, 1944 in Concord to the late Lewis D. Garmon and Hester McQueen Garmon. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Carol Garmon, and sister, Ida Ann Garmon Thompson.
Lewis was employed by the Cabarrus County School System in refrigeration maintenance. He was a member of Kerr Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Lewis enjoyed building and flying remote control airplanes, fishing and boating. Lewis was a great handyman and saved everything in case he could use it, and he usually did. He was a collector and enjoyed the gun range.
Lewis has resided at Ann Street Senior Living, Kannapolis, for the past 14 months. Candice Stokes is the owner. Candice and her staff have provided Lewis with the best possible environment and sense of community. The journey has been difficult and their support has been phenomenal.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol G. Garmon; daughter, Cynthia Ann Garmon and son, Daron Garmon, both of Concord; grandchildren, Savana Morales and Karli Motley of Concord, and Audra Garmon Newell of Huntersville.

VIA Health Partners (Hospice) have managed the health care plan for Lewis with caring and compassion. The end of life care included visits from the staff of nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers and the chaplain.
