Laurel Owens

February 14, 1957 — August 10, 2024

CONCORD,NC- Laurel Ann Bowes Owens, 67, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 at Atrium Cabarrus Hospital.

A 7:00pm Friday (August 16) memorial service will be held at Sharon Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends and visitors from 6 to 7:00pm at the church.

Laurel was born on February 14, 1957 to Richard L. and Phyllis Marietta Rego Bowes. She was born in Syracuse, NY where she lived until moving to Concord, NC in 1997. In Syracuse, she was a graduate of Corcoran High School and a member at St. James Catholic Church. Laurel liked to cook. She prepared creative culinary dishes in her kitchen and watched many cooking shows on television. She found pleasure and comfort in decorating her home. She enjoyed NASCAR but her favorite sport was football where she was a Green Bay Packers fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald W. Owens Jr. and daughter, Carly Anne Haga.

Mrs. Owens is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ronald W. Owens Sr; son, Brett R. Owens (Amber) of Kannapolis; son-in-law, Daniel Haga of Concord; and three grandchildren, Bentley R. Owens, Bristol R. Owens, and Ronald Wayne Haga.
