Larry Stancil

Mr. Larry Eugene Stancil entered the Church Triumphant Thursday, February 20, 2025.

His Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church officiated by Rev. Norbert Hahn. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 PM Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.

Larry was born November 21,1942 in Cabarrus County to the late Paul Alexander Stancil and Lois Medlin. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Sharon Seamon Stancil, grandson Ryan Christopher McManus, brother Curtis Stancil, and sister Ellen Frances Stancil Cline.

Larry graduated from Concord High School and Central Piedmont College, before proudly serving the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department and the N.C. Department of Health & Human Services with a total of 44 years of service. Prior to bad health, Larry loved to hunt and fish. He and Linda spent a lot of time at Cape Hatteras where they were married 25 years ago. They also loved camping with the Piedmont Adventure Club, spending time with their friends, and going on cruises. Larry was also a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where he enjoyed working with the Property Committee and Habit prior to failing health.

Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years Linda Hatley McManus Stancil; sons Larry Stancil, Jr. (Heather), Richard Stancil (Anna), Brian Stancil (Sarah), and Christopher McManus (Kathy); 5 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, and 2 great granddaughters; and a number of extended family members.
