Larry David Morgan, 78, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday March 10, 2018 at CHS-Northeast.
Funeral services will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6pm prior to the service. A private family burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park.
Larry was born August 4,1939 in Cabarrus County to the late Clyde Vernon Morgan and Ruth Pauline Hatley Morgan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Charles Morgan, Sr. and sister, Joyce Ann Morgan.
He served as Jeweler and Watch Repairman at Huntley’s Jewelers for 59 years, where he took great pleasure in serving his customers and forming life-long friendships.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Larry “David" Morgan Jr; daughter Tammy Morgan Faggart and husband Phil; grandchildren, Tiffany Morgan, Justin Morgan, Phillip Faggart and Devin Faggart; sister-in-law, Jeanette Morgan along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews who all adored him.
Larry was a loving Father, Grandpa, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who took great pleasure in watching NASCAR (especially with his brother, Bill), fishing, and family gatherings. He enjoyed supporting his four grandchildren, nieces and nephews in their many sporting, academic and life endeavors.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, respiratory team, radiology team, care partners and staff in the ICU who cared for him attentively these past weeks. We are grateful.
We will forever cherish the memory of his love for us.
