Miss Kylie Christine Simpson of South Oakmont Street, passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at her home due to complications arising from Klippel-Feil Syndrome. A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Concord. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM and again following the service.
Kylie was born August 27, 1989, as a micro-preemie in Charlotte to the Rev. Dr. Frederick Scott Simpson and the Rev. Dr. Patti Tillman Simpson. She graduated from the Art Institute in Charlotte with a BA degree in Photography. She was currently attending the prestigious Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, England, working on her Master’s degree in Textile Design as one of thirty students accepted into that program worldwide. Her goal centered on employing her photography skills to create sustainable textiles and surface designs. She desired to decorate the world with her unique, artistic vision.
Kylie is survived by her parents Scott and Patti Simpson; grandparents Fred and Babs Simpson of Monroe, NC; along with the following aunts, uncles, and cousins: Murray and Mitia Simpson with their children, Benjamin, Matthew, and Leah of Durham, NC; Renee Tillman of Rock Hill, SC; Al and Lisa Tillman of Lancaster, SC, with their children Kristie Tillman of Columbia, SC, Garrett and Allison Tillman with their daughter Olivia of Rock Hill, SC, and Grant Tillman of Lancaster, SC; Jamee and Kelly Sexton with their daughters Maggee and Malloree of Rock Hill, SC. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katie Scott and Mollie Michele, and also by maternal grandparents, Pat and Catherine Tillman.
