In Loving Memory of Mr. Keith Leon Dawkins
Mr. Keith Leon Dawkins, 63, of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center, with his loving wife and sisters by his side.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Charlotte, NC to honor and remember Keith's legacy. Shortly following the celebration of life, his ashes will be scattered in the ocean in Maui, Hawaii.
Keith was born on September 1, 1961, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Doris Yvonne McCullough Dawkins and Richard Dawkins.
A dedicated and hardworking professional, Keith retired from R.J. Reynolds where he spent many years as an Engineering Technician in Winston-Salem, He built a career filled with strong relationships and lasting friendships. His dedication to his work and his colleagues was a testament to his character.
Beyond his career, Keith was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He cherished the time he spent with family and embraced life's moments with laughter, joy, warmth and kindness. Keith was a larger-than-life Pittsburgh Steelers Fan and enjoyed boating, billiards and playing golf. He was a strong supporter of the Alzheimer's Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Stephanie Ranell Harris Dawkins of Charlotte NC; daughter, Amber Nicole Dawkins of Charlotte, NC; sons, Justin Keyth Dawkins of Charlotte, NC, and Dameon Penn-EL (Maria) of Brown Summit, NC; sisters, Katrina Kirkley (George) and Kisha Scott (Benard), both of Rural Hall, NC; and brothers, Kenny Dawkins and Kevin Dawkins (Pean), both of Winston-Salem, NC; Four grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Park Rd STE 250, Charlotte, NC 28209.
Keith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His smile was infectious and his generosity was unprecedented. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
