Katherine Bartram “Kitty” Taylor went to heaven unexpectedly on May 15, 2018. Born November 6, 1957 in Concord, North Carolina, Kitty loved her family, her friends, and her animals. She had a lifelong passion for horses and of course, her VOLS. Kitty graduated from Concord High School and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a degree in communications. She worked in Knoxville for a number of years before returning to Concord to work for Concord Telephone and S & D Coffee and Tea, Inc. She enjoyed working with youth and was a volunteer for the Teen Court.
Predeceased by her mother, Jane Foil Taylor, Kitty leaves her father, William H. Taylor, Sr. (Kitty), her brother William H. Taylor, Jr. (Christy), her nieces Maddie Milne (John) and Mary Calder Taylor. She also leaves two special step sisters, Monica Johnston (Rob) and Jenna Peeler (Tori), niece Katherine Johnston, and nephews William Johnston, Nathan Peeler, and Seth Peeler. She is also survived by her uncle, Martin Foil, cousins, Quincy Foil White (Mike), Marty Foil (Lisa), Mary Foil, and Philip Foil. In addition, she leaves Skip Powel (Sharon) and Beth Powel. The family thanks all of her close friends and neighborhood “family” for their friendship and care.
A memorial service for Kitty will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, North Carolina with visitation following the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, the Cabarrus Humane Society or to the charity of the giver’s choice.
