Joseph David Redman Sr. left this earth to be with Jesus on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 23, 2024 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Roger Steadman, with burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Joe was born July 16, 1944 in Cabarrus County to the late Burrell Hunter Redman and Elsie Rice Redman. He was also preceded in death by sister Burleen Sides, and brothers Ira and Bob Redman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He loved to spend time in his garden and he was a master at it. He loved an occasional trip to Maggie Valley to spend the day with his wife Mary. He attended Hartsell High School and went on to work at Cannon Mills. He later started his own business, Redman’s Painting Service. He worked diligently for twenty eight years before retiring and turning the business over to his son. He will be greatly missed by everyone, but we know he is in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, completely healed and whole.
Joe leaves behind his wife of 62 years Mary Rayfield Redman; son Jeffery Redman and wife Melissa as well as son Joseph David Redman, Jr and wife Tara; three sisters Shirley Dagenhart, Annette Cook and Dean Redman, and brother Howell Redman. Joe had five granddaughters Mallory, Angela, Tiffany and Sarah Redman, and Madison Smith as well as grandson Clay Walker, and great grandson Walker Smith; and a number of extended family members.
