Joseph F. Hiskey was born in Long Island, New York to William and Anne Hiskey on June 2, 1941. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 11, 2024.
Joe spent his career as an engineer for Grumman Aerospace, Long Island Water Company, and Corning. In retirement, he worked part-time at West Cabarrus YMCA.
Joe’s attention to detail was second to none and everyone who knew him quickly learned that a task could be done the right way, the wrong way or Joe’s way. We all agree that Joe’s way was the BEST!
Joe was an aviation aficionado and he spent countless hours watching aircraft take off and land at airports up and down the Eastern Seaboard. He could identify all types upon sight.
A true sports fan, Joe could always be found watching his beloved Tarheels, the NY Giants, the Carolina Panthers, NASCAR, and golf.
Golf was his passion. He spent many hours at Rocky River Golf Club honing his craft and enjoying time with friends.
A talented sailor, Joe sailed his boat, THE ANNA H, competitively for years. Even after his sailing days ended, he loved spending time at the beach.
In addition to his loving wife, Judy S. Hiskey, Joe is survived by his sons William and Michael Hiskey(Camila), Brad Morton (Cheryl); daughters Wendy Allen (Lee) and Kelly Morton. His grandchildren, Samantha Hiskey, William Hiskey, Jr., Kaitlyn Roberts (husband Ronald), Olivia Hiskey, Ella Hiskey, Blake and Ryan Morton, Emma Combs, and his great grandson Elijah Joseph Hiskey.
A private graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park.
