John Coyt Crumpton, 47, of Concord, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at his home surrounded by loving family after an almost 3 year hard fought and courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held September, 17, 2017 from 4:30-7:30pm at the Ritchie Hill estate located at 391 Union St S, Concord, NC 28025.
Anyone who was around John even briefly was immediately drawn in by his unforgettable ebullient personality. There was an energy that radiated from within him that had a way of making everyone’s day brighter. With a clever tongue and sarcastic hue he would often leave you in a fit of hysterical laughter.
He was a beloved manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement for 13 years. Many co-workers can attest that he eased the hustle and bustle of the typical retail environment as he kept everyone on their toes with his lively, entertaining antics. He was equally adored by customers as well, many choosing to only deal with him and even shopping only at the locations he worked.
As a lifelong musician and well-loved face in the Charlotte music scene, John’s talent and passion will live on through recordings, pictures and memories of his bands throughout the years – Sonic Funkhouse, Spite, Blackaciddisco, and avenuedrive.
John was intensely compassionate and cared so deeply for others. He was a doting father, incredibly in love with and proud of his two sons Jagger and Zane and a dedicated son, brother, and friend. He was a true rock star on and off the stage and will be so deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
