Jerry Cochran

Mr. Jerry Eugene Cochran, 85, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Wilkinson Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Joey Morrison, with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 12:00-12:45 PM prior to the service.

Jerry was born on October 14, 1939, in Cabarrus County to the late Inez Helms Cochran and Clarence "Lawyer" Cochran.

At just 16 years old, Jerry began his career in the corrugated container industry, where he dedicated his entire working life. He held positions with Weyerhaeuser and Stone Containers, working his way up from manufacturing to plant superintendent, a true testament to his strong work ethic and long-standing career.

In his youth, Jerry enjoyed playing basketball at Harrisburg High School, and later in life, he found joy in golfing. He was known for watching TV and indulging in chocolate ice cream, a simple pleasure that brought him happiness.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Barbara "Faye" Queen Cochran; daughter, Renne Kiser Santis of Concord; son, Scott Cochran and wife, Lynne, of Concord; brother, Mickey Cochrane and wife, Mary, of Hayesville; grandchildren, Shelly Widenhouse and husband, Ryan; Hanna Huneycutt and husband, Bryan; Tyler Cochran and wife, Allison; Corbin Cochran and wife, Lia; and great-grandchildren, Kinley Widenhouse, Braylin Huneycutt, Ryder Huneycutt, Lincoln Cochran, Ty Cochran, Helen Cochran, Taylor Huneycutt, Olivia Simmons, and Cassie Huneycutt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.

Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
